Announcement
I am pleased to announce that Broome County GenWeb has acquired a "sister site" to offer more genealogical data to researchers. The site is run by Marlea Crimmins, who has supplied several services to us in the past, including look-ups in Genealogy Gleanings by Hitt and the entire text of the Personal Briefs from Smith's History of Broome County.
On her site are abstracts of several Broome County genealogical reference works, include the biographies from Volume 3 of Seward, the index of which is in process of being added to our site. Also on her site are early deed records, family writeups from other works and research notes she has collected on families in the area.
There will be no direct linking of data pages of her pages from the GenWeb site. The way the linkage will be achieved is through the search engines. In this way, the connection can be kept up to date with very little extra work needed by myself or Marlea.
Currently, there are 3 search engines for the Broome County site: Freefind, Picosearch and Rootsweb's GenSeeker. This is how the 3 search engines will function:
In this way, you control the results you want.
Both Marlea and I are quite happy to link our sites in an effort to help YOU, the Broome County researcher. We hope this new arrangement will help you find more of the data you need.
