Thank you for your interest in my services. Let me tell you something about myself. I've been doing genealogical research for more than 12 years as a hobby. Since my early retirement from IBM  8 years ago, I turned my hobby into a small business to help pay for my hobby expenses, and fill in my free time. I spent 33 years at IBM involved in research and development. The investigative studies I did at IBM, and my interest in family history seemed to lead me directly to this second career. Both my wife and I descend from Italian immigrants, and most of my early research time was spent on the study of the European immigration around the turn of the 20th century. This included tracking these immigrants after arrival, and then investigating their life in their native land. I've had a number of related articles published, and give talks on the subject. My latest activities include teaching genealogy classes at a local school, and a computer & genealogy class at a SeniorNet computer facility.

I certainly do not limit my research to those people and that time period. Most of my paid research involved families that lived in the Broome and Tioga County, New York area during the 1800's, and early 1900's. My field research is limited to these two counties, but I have access to numerous family history databases. Most of these databases relate to New York State, but I also have CD-ROMs with thousands of family histories shared by other researchers.

Here in Broome and Tioga Counties, I research in the local libraries, County and Town Clerk's offices, Historian's office, and Historical Society's Libraries.

Some of the sources of information include the following:

·  "Genealogical Gleanings", an index to local newspaper citations from 1812 to 1880.

·  Published Broome & Tioga County Histories.

·  The Woodward Files: A card index of information abstracted from:
            censuses,
            church and cemetery records,
            newspapers,
            published histories,
            and local family histories.

·  Property transfer records.

·  Wills and Estate files.

·  Civil Court Actions.

·  City Directories.

·  Broome County State & Federal Census data.

Some of the CD-ROM data bases I own are:

·  Federal Census index: 1850, 1860, & 1870 (PA only)

·  Mortality Index: Most States 1850-1880.

·  Marriage Index: Selected areas of New York State. (2 CD's).

·  Family Tree Maker's Family Archives.

·  Social Security Death Index.

Data bases I have access to are:

·  Census index for New York State for 1790-1860.

Please contact me for fees, and explain, briefly, the type of research you are interested in.
