HEATH   --     Seeking information on the marriage of Hulda HEATH, daughter of Joseph and Patience HEATH, who lived in Windsor Town(ship) in the early 1800's. According to Valerie Giorgi's book, "William Heath of Roxbury, MA", Hulda married a "Mr. CRISTY". HOADLEY   --     Hello everyone! I am looking for anyone who is researching the HOADLEYs who lived in Broome Co. from the 1840's through the 1860's. There seems to be many HOADLEYs who lived in this county, but I am specifically wondering about Edward(who lived in Conklin) and George(who lived in Barker). I have a theory that these HOADLEYs are my ancestors who eventually moved to Sparland, Illinois sometime before 1870. I would be willing to pay for the research necessary to prove this link. Thank you for any tips in this regard.

HOLMES   --     I have been tracing my line of HOLMES' from ERIE county back to CATTARAUGUS county and have recently learned that they came to CATTARAUGUS from BROOME county. I only know that a Samuel HOLMES, born abt. 1820 in New York State - probably Broome County, had a son, Amos HOLMES (my gg grandfather) who took up farming in Catt. county. Do you know of anyone with any information about HOLMES' in BROOME county? Any help would be very much appreciated, including how to make a formal query to the mailing list if this isn't what I've just done. Thanks!

HOWE   --     My Great Great Grandfather Squire Howe was born in Conklin, Broome County NY on Aug.24, 1845. His mother's name is Hannah, father unknown. Please add his name to your list with my email address. If anyone has any info. they can send it to me. Do you know where I could find the birth records?

HOWLAND   --     I have reached a dead end with the following: Laura Howland, b. ca 1817. married to Wm Harrison Gibson 1837 Berkshire Tioga County Died 18 October, 1864. She is buried, along with the following of her children, Burdett, Oscar H., and Jannett, in the HOWLAND HILL CEMETERY. I have been unable to determine her parentage, but since the cemetery is on land originally settled by Wm Howland , and the cemetery started by his son, Isaac, believe there is a tie-in. It is possible, of course, that her name was not Laura, altho that is how she is recorded in the census. She named children Helen, William Riley, Oscar H., Warren, Burdett, Janett, Frank Burdett, Richmond E., and James Florence. I would be so grateful if someone can help me.

HUMPHREY   --     I am looking for the last name of Humphrey, some of whom I know live in Binghamton. The main name is John/Jack Humphrey. I believe that there was a riff in the family several genations ago. My father was a Humphrey and we do know of relatives in Florida and we have been in touch and have reunited with them, but the family originated, I believe, in Scranton, PA. I think I have noted one from a census who lived in Chenango Bridge. If there are any clues you can find, it would be nice to find some more leads. John is the main family name.
