Tollefson
Query Text: My grandfather Mathias Tollefson was naturalized April 1, 1918 in Supreme Court of Broome County, Binghamton. At the time he lived 56 Mckinley Ave, Endicott, NY with wife Emily (Jansson) Tollefson and daughters Carolyn and Margaret. He and Emily were married in 1913 by the District Supt of the Methodist-Episcopal Church in Binghamton, witnesses were named Roon, but I cannot read the minister's name or the first names of the witnesses. Who would the minister be? Are the naturalization applications, etc. located in the Binghamton court house? Was there a large Scandanavian community in Broome County during the early 19th century? I cannot find Mathias on the 1910 census. Emily was a schoolteacher in Brooklyn. The family is in Albany by 1920. Thank you for any help and direction you can give me. Margaret
